Green Corps was founded in 1992 "to train environmental organizers, provide field support for today's critical environmental campaigns, and graduate activists who possess the skills, temperament, and commitment needed to fight and win tomorrow's environmental battles." Over 200 young people have graduated from its year-long program, with 85 percent of them continuing their careers in the environmental and social change field.
