Washington state will soon phase out nonstick chemicals in its food packaging. Gov. Jay Inslee recently signed a bill into law that will restrict perfluorinated chemicals, which are used to make paper food packaging nonstick and may be linked to certain cancers, thyroid problems and pregnancy-induced hypertension.
